We have exciting news to share! KDogsz has purchased 2100 chicken-filled hooves from Picasso’s Pawfect Pet Treats to spoil the dogs this holiday season.
These treats, valued at R20 000, were secured at a fantastic resale discount and will be handed out in December to bring some extra joy to our furry friends.

On the 8th of August, R.A.D (Rescued Animal Drive) was approached by a family whose dog, Kleintjie, had suffered a broken leg. The family was unable to afford the R4,000 vet bill, and unfortunately, R.A.D. didn’t have the funds to cover it either. The owners were told they would need to come up with the money or Kleintjie would be put to sleep.
At the last minute, the family managed to raise R1,000. KDogsz couldn’t stand by and let Kleintjie be put to sleep for something as treatable as a broken leg, so we stepped in and offered to cover the remaining R3,000. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, Kleintjie had his operation and is now healing well. 🐾💙

“This is Kleintjie who has a broken leg. This is in the same area as Lady, and people can be pretty cruel. The family said she was outside, and they heard a yelp.
She has a pretty “easy break” that can be wired. However, the cage rest part is always as expensive as the op, with just over R100 a day….and 3 weeks is probably the period.
So we are probably looking at R4000 to R5000. At the last minute – we gave the family a 4:30 deadline, they called to say they’ve got R1 000, please save her.
If we cannot help a family that is willing to make an effort and contribute, what is the point. We are really hoping that a few people will be able to chuck something in the kitty so that the load is not too heavy.
There has been so many people who has taken advantage of our goodwill, promising to pay then just ignoring our requests and that is the main reason we are now limited to this point.
We have to remind ourselves that we do it for the animals and not the owners, but it can be deflating sometimes.”

We’re proud to have recently assisted Ficksburg Freestate Animal Rescue in their incredible work to save animals in need. Our contributions included 25 premium dog blankets valued at R3,490.25, 200kg of dry dog food, and 84 tins of wet dog food, totalling R5,918.45.
Additionally, Ficksburg Freestate Animal Rescue reached out for help with two starving puppies and their mother, Kleintjie, who needed urgent vet treatment. We are happy to share that KDogsz covered the full vet bill of R3,722, paying directly to their vet (ODP Vet) to ensure they received the care they deserved.

On the 27 June 2024, R.A.D (Rescued Animal Drive) in the Western Cape reached out for help to raise R5 000 for the sterilisation of 20 dogs they encountered during their local outreach. We at KDogsz were eager to assist and donated the full R5 000 needed for these vital sterilisations. 🐶❤️
But the good news doesn’t stop there! Later that day, Saints Animal Charity matched our donation with another R5,000, allowing an additional 20 dogs to be sterilised. Together, we are making a significant impact in the lives of these animals and helping to control the pet population in a humane way.

On the 6th of June, we came across a heartfelt plea for assistance on the KZN Valley Dogs page. A local resident was seeking help for his dog, Harriet (affectionately known as Harry), who had been tragically burnt with boiling water. This heartbreaking incident occurred as Harry, like many dogs in the area who are not fenced in, was scavenging for food. Sadly, some community members resort to throwing boiling water at the dogs to chase them away.
Harry’s owner couldn’t afford the vet bills for his treatment, which had already amounted to R5 171. After receiving all the necessary vet care, the bill was R8 236. Without hesitation, KDogsz stepped in and covered Harry’s vet bill with a donation of R8 500. This amount was paid directly to Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital. We are pleased to report that Harry is now back home with his owner, recovering well, thanks to KZN Valley Dogs.
However, this incident brought to light a troubling issue. KZN Valley Dogs discovered other dogs in the area who had also been burnt with boiling water. The dedicated volunteers at KZN Valley Dogs must tread carefully to ensure their own safety while attending to these matters as they are reported.
We commend KZN Valley Dogs for their unwavering dedication to rescuing and caring for animals in need, despite the challenges they face. It’s essential for us to support such efforts to create a safer and more compassionate community for our furry friends.
